Rhian Mitchell, MSc., UKBA(cert), BCBA

Founder & Director

Rhian has worked within the neurodiverse community for over 16 years. She was first introduced to Applied Behaviour Analysis when she was just 19 years old and hasn’t looked back since. Her Knowledge and practice has developed in various roles across multiple settings. She has an immeasurable amount of experience within education working with young people between the ages of 3 and 18. Her most recent experience saw her develop and establish a behaviour support pathway within an NHS Child and Mental Health Team (CAMHS), working with young people with neurodiversity, emotional and behavioural needs and mental health concerns.


Rhian has particular strengths in the analysis of behaviours that challenge, person centred, ethical programming and co-producing goals to have longevity and real impact for individuals, families and organisations. She is very experienced in risk management, writing curriculums, procedures and protocols that can be versatile and understood by a variety of users. Rhian has won organisational awards in recognition of the effect her programming has made for its users and the high standards upheld by the staff she has trained.

Rhian has worked in individual’s homes, outpatient clinics, SEN and mainstream schools, as well as visiting hospital settings to run assessments of needs and make recommendations.

  • Trauma informed assessments.

  • Multiple needs assessments.

  • Functional assessments.

  • ADOS assessments and report writing.

  • VB MAPP assessments and report writing

  • EFL assessment and report writing

  • ABLLS assessment and report writing

  • Creating behaviour support and PBS plans that can be adapted for a variety of users.

  • Creating risk analysis systems that are used to measure priority of need on waiting lists, including crisis referrals.

  • Programme management-assess, report, develop, supervise train and consult.

  • 1:1 and group training to professionals including health and social care professionals.

  • 1:1 and group training to parents.

  • Staff management and training - individuals and teams.

  • Well versed and practiced in safeguarding.

  • Multi-disciplinary team meetings including referral meetings.

  • Co production, ensuring goal setting is accessible for everyone involved.

  • Report writing.

  • Developing behaviour support pathways.

  • Borough wide peer supervision across health and social care settings.

  • Home programme consultations.

  • Whole school consultations for SEN and Mainstream education.

  • Individual pupil school consultations.

  • Data based decision making.

  • Creating organisation wide protocols to increase staff productivity.

  • Researching, creating and trialling a competency curriculum across similar service providers to ensure continuity in the performance across a specific role within the field of ABA.

  • Creating and rolling out an organisation wide assessment package for the transition from a secondary to a college provision based on interests, to develop skills working towards a chosen career for young adults.

  • Leading on developing school wide social skills group curriculum within an SEN provision.

  • Crisis responding to young people, their families or schools at risk of placement breakdown.

  • Supervision to professionals looking to become qualified or in need of consultation.


Rhian has passionate views about the future of the world of ABA and how the field can continue to develop and grow with the diversity, awareness and ethics of a new generation.

Rhian likes to challenge herself to constantly grow in every aspect of her life, whether as a wife, a mum to her 2 children, a friend or a behaviour analyst. She enjoys yoga and meditation to calm her busy life.
